Tahsin and Tahfidz Quran (TAQ) Program
In our efforts to connect FBS students with their faith, it is paramount to engender within them an understanding of the Qur’an that allows them to connect with it and embody its teachings. Furthermore, any healthy Muslim community has at its core an element that has memorized the Qur’an. We are proud to announce the launch of TAQ (Qur’an memorization) program. The program will help the students of FBS to memorize portions of the Qur’an, or the entirety of it, through a curriculum that is customized to their individual ability. We believe that learning the Quran is a part of living and exercising the religion on a daily basis. The balance between religion and academics marks the different approach FBS applies compared to other schools.
Elementary
Elementary students are targeted to memorize 4-5 juz within six years. The following is a possible learning pathway of TAQ for elementary students.
- Grade 1 : Introduction to al-Quran (learning Makharij Al Huruf)
- Grade 2 : Tahfidz juz 30
- Grade 3 : Tahfidz juz 29
- Grade 4 : Tahfidz juz 1
- Grade 5 : Tahfidz juz 2
- Grade 6 : Tahfidz juz 3
Middle School
Middle school students are targeted to memorize 3 juz within three years. The following is a sample of TAQ for middle school students (the target may vary based on students’ prior knowledge of al-Quran).
- Grade 7 : Tahsin + tahfidz juz 30
- Grade 8 : Tahfidz juz 29
- Grade 9 : Tahfidz juz 28
High School
High school students are targeted to memorize 3 juz within three years. The following is a sample of TAQ for high school students (the target may vary based on students’ prior knowledge of al-Quran).
