Middle School Overview
FBS has a specifically designed curriculum for the education of adolescents and is suitable for years 7-9. The objective of FBS middle school curriculum is to help maintain the students’ engagement with learning during a time of immense physical and emotional development while providing a structured and challenging academic platform to prepare the children for the next stage of their schooling.
The essential curriculum at FBS Middle School is directly based on the requirements of the Cambridge Assessment International Education. It is a well-rounded curriculum which develops the students’ skills in core subjects such as English, Math and Science. Furthermore, by the end of Grade 8, students are encouraged to take the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint Tests.
FBS also profoundly considers the students’ progress in language learning. By adapting the Cambridge International English Assessment, it is expected for students to take Key English Test (KET) and Preliminary English Test (PET) by the end of Grade 8. As a consequence, the development of learning can be precisely measured.
Grade 9 of Fatih Bilingual School refers to Cambridge IGCSE Curriculum for specialized subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. In 2019, we proudly introduced IGCSE Economics and Global Perspective subjects to this level. Similar to the previous level of study, the curriculum for Physical Education and Art & Music is the modified national syllabus which meets the FBS students’ needs. And for Bahasa Indonesia, Citizenship, and Religion and Character Education, we refer to the Indonesian National Curriculum.
We believe that these standardized curriculum would provide a high-quality experience of learning while still preserving national culture and character value.
