Teaching with Digital Technology: Effective Online Learning through Pear-Deck on GoogleSlides

Fatih Bilingual School held a teaching with a digital technology series seminar for the second time entitled “Effective Online Learning through Pear-Deck on GoogleSlides”. It was delivered by one of FBS teachers, Mr. Gulbuddin Hikmatyar, on Friday, 17 April 2020. This seminar lasted for one hour, starting at 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. and still with the same rules, all seminars organized by FBS are open to the public and free. 

During the seminar, the speaker introducing several methods of learning and teaching, and how to use Pear Deck, and its objectives. He said that Pear Deck was built to support active learning and empower teachers in a classroom and as an interactive presentation tool used to actively engage students in individual and social learning. There were 60 people who registered in this seminar.

“Hopefully, other educational institutions will also hold the same seminar, so that participants could understand more about digital teaching”, He said.

At the end of the seminar session, the speaker asked the participants for the seminar evaluation and as an improvement for the upcoming seminar. The participants said they were very satisfied with this seminar, but there were some technical obstacles they experienced and not all participants were familiar with digital teaching.
