Representing Indonesia at SEAMO X 2020 Australia, Fatih Bilingual School Students Got Merit Awards

The Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (SEAMO) was held at the Gold Coast, Australia 17-20 January 2020. SEAMO is a mathematical competition that challenges students’ creativity to compete with other students who love mathematics from grade 1 to grade 12. 

SEAMO is an International Mathematics Olympiad founded by the Terry Chew Institute of Mathematical Olympiad (TCIMO) which is held annually in several Southeast Asian Countries. This year SEAMO X 2020 was attended by thousands of participants from 18 different countries.

To take part in this prestigious event, students must go through the preliminary round which was conducted in several regions in Indonesia. Those who qualify will receive a certificate, medal and represent Indonesia in the final round (SEAMO).

There are two Fatih Bilingual School students who took part in the final round and got Merit awards, they are; Muhammad Bilal Aslan (elementary student) and Muhammad Zawil Wafa Al Hafizh (middle school student).

Mr. Tyar as the teacher said that this is the second time the students participated in this competition, and the results are very good. The teacher also claimed that they already prepared the students for this competition.

“I hope that in the future more preparation with more math practice and hopefully other students can also be motivated to participate in any category competition”, He added.
