National Heroes Day at School

Elementary students of Fatih Bilingual School celebrated Indonesia’s National Heroes Day on 23 November 2019 at Audio-Visual Room of Fatih Bilingual School from 08.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m. 

The event was held to commemorate the 1945 Battle of Surabaya that was fought during the Indonesian National Revolution on 10 November. This celebration also aimed to provide an opportunity for children to know more about heroes and history to increase their nationalism.

There are two competitions at this event. First was a short drama with a hero theme for 2nd-5th grade and the second was a little hero on the action for 1st-5th grade. In this competition, the children needed to dress up as their idol heroes.

Ms. Aula, the elementary teacher said that the students were very happy, very energetic, and hopefully, through this event, the children could get to know the history of the heroes, and they can apply the spirit of heroism in every activity they did.

On this occasion, the commemoration of Heroes’ Day was carried out together with the Mawlid.

“Mawlid was carried out to introduce the students that the Messenger of Allah was our role model as a Moslem,” said Ms. Fitri as the elementary teacher.

There were several activities in this event such as poster competition, watching Islamic movies together and Meuramien (eating together at school).
