FBS Celebrates Indonesias’ Independence Day

Fatih Bilingual School held various special activities that will enliven the celebration of Indonesia 74th Independence day on 17 August 2019. Before starting various fun activities, the school held a flag-raising ceremony in the schoolyard. The ceremony started at 8.00 A.m and followed by all of FBS students, teachers, and staff. After the flag ceremony, the more informal celebrations start with a series of fun competitions taking place.

FBS middle-high school students celebrate this moment by organizing and participating in several outdoor competitions  for instance, Tarik Tambang (pulling rope), Makan Krupuk (eating chips), Dirgantara Generation, Voli Sarung (playing volley in sarung), Sendok Kelereng (marbles and spoon race), Bulldozer, Pocong Haus (racing by jumping and drinking in a sack), Bakiak (running using wooden slippers) and Proclamation Challenge. 

On the other hand, FBS elementary school teachers also organized the independence day by creating several competitions for elementary students, for instance, Balap Karung (racing by jumping in a sack), Makan Krupuk (cracker eating contest), Kolase, Layang-Layang (creating a kite) and Proclamation Challenge.

In addition, the winner of those competitions will be announced on Monday 19 August 2019 after the flag ceremony, the winners will win a prize given by the school committee.
