Fatih Online Seminar: How Do We Respond to The Pandemic Based on Religious Guidance

Fatih Online Seminar program has entered its third week and it is intended for the public who wants to increase their knowledge about certain things and conveyed by the experts. 

Fatih Bilingual School held Fatih Online Seminar on Saturday 11 April 2020. The theme of the seminar was “How Do We Respond to The Pandemic Based on Religious Guidance” delivered by Tgk Muhammad Hatta, Lc., M.Ed who is an expert in this field, and he is a member of MPU (Majelis Permusyawaratan Ulama) or Ulama Council of Aceh Province and also the leader of the Dayah Madani Al-Aziziyah Lampeuneurut, Ujong Blang, Aceh Besar.

He told the audience how the pandemic occurred in the past, especially in the Prophet era. As a Muslim, we should always repent and worship Allah, ask forgiveness from Allah, and we are also asked to obey the rules given by the government to prevent transmission of the virus as a form of Tawakkul to Allah.

He also explained that people who were positive COVID-19 did not mean that they were punished by Allah because there are many prophet companions died because of the pandemic, and they considered to be martyrs. It is in accordance with the hadith narrated by Bukhari and Muslim “The martyrs are of five kinds: one who dies of the plague; one who dies of disease of his belly; the drowned; one who dies under debris (of construction, etc.) and one who dies while fighting in the way of Allah”.

“When Ramadan arrives, people can do tarawih prayers at home with their families but if they want to pray at the mosque and our situation (Aceh) is still relatively safe then this is also allowed”, He added.

The school hopes that this seminar can enlighten the public in responding to this difficult situation, especially in the eyes of religion.
