Career Counseling: College Entrance Strategy

Getting into college is a complicated problem for high school students and their parents. But this complicated problem can be solved if students know a good strategy, so they do not experience difficulties in dealing with this problem. Therefore, FBS held a career and counseling seminar answering students and parents’ concerns about entering college on Friday 8 May 2020 at 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. online using Zoom platform. This seminar was delivered by Mr. Iqbal as one of biology teacher at Fatih Bilingual School.

In the seminar, the speaker explained how to enter the university and its preparation. He also delivered about school programs in preparing students to enter Indonesian state universities, and some changes in entering college due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The speaker also explained that FBS runs a different career and counseling program because they implemented a long life education system that the guidance does not stop after students graduate from school, but the school still provides a place for them to share between students and school.

“Career counseling is crucial for students, at FBS, we actually didn’t start in high school but it started since students in elementary school. Early preparation is needed to determine the students’ interests and talents. In the middle-high school level, students will take the Career Aptitude Test and then will consult with a career counselor about their interests and talents, we also hold seminar and study tour”, said Mr. Iqbal.

“Until now, the university consultation process is still going on the same as before the pandemic, but this time all the processes are done online”, He added.
