Fatih Development of Teaching Proficiency “Improving the Quality of Education, Where to Start?”

Fatih Bilingual School in collaboration with Teuku Nyak Arif Bilingual School and Department of Education and Culture of Aceh Province held Fatih Development of Teacher Proficiency (FDTP) for the first time with the theme “Improving the Quality of Education, Where to Start?”  for those who are in the world of education.

Fatih Development of Teacher Proficiency (FDTP) is a teaching development program for teachers, school leaders, students, academicians and education observers throughout Aceh Province. The purpose of this program is to improve the quality of education in Aceh and share experiences, techniques, teaching methods that are effective and efficient.

This activity was carried out on 2 – 4 January 2020 and was opened by the Mayor of Banda Aceh, Aminullah Usman on Thursday, 2 January 2020, at Fatih Bilingual School Hall, which was attended by 204 participants from 14 cities and districts, 3 keynote speakers, 28 speakers with  44 topics for workshop sessions or breakout sessions.

FDTP program is filled with interesting topics delivered by reputable keynote speakers who discussed reflective and basic skills that are needed to improve the quality of education in schools, they are:

1. Dianindah Apriyani (Senior Country Manager of Indonesia, Cambridge Assessment International Education) with the topic, “Looking Backward, Moving Forward”.
2. Prof. Dr. Setiono Sugiharto (Graduate School of Applied English Linguistics, Atma Jaya University) with the topic, “The Concept of Action Research”.
3. Indra Charismiadji (Education Consultant, 21st Century Learning Expert) with the topic, “Utilizing Technology in Schools Must Start with “UNLEARN””

In addition, this training also provides breakout sessions where participants can choose a variety of specific topics according to their interests in a smaller group and explore new ideas, share the best practices and discuss in more detail. 

Participants are also given the choice to choose from a total of nine breakout sessions over three days. This program also uses two languages namely Bahasa Indonesia and English.

This training is free and expected to have a positive impact on education, especially in Aceh Province.
