Fatih Bilingual School Takes Precautions as COVID-19 Outbreak Spreads

The number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia has increased on Sunday, 15 March 2020. It had 21 new confirmed cases, taking the country’s total to 117 with 5 deaths. The protection of children and educational facilities is very important. Precautions are necessary to prevent the potential spread of COVID-19 in school settings.

Fatih Bilingual School issued new rules and guidance to help and protect children and schools from transmission of the COVID-19 virus. The guidance provides critical considerations and practical checklists to keep schools safe namely, the gate will be opened only after the security check, security will check your body temperature before entering school, anyone whose body temperature above 37,5 C is not allowed to enter the school and prohibits shaking hands with friends and teachers. This policy applies to everyone, including students, parents, teachers and employees.

Fatih Bilingual School is also working together with the community health center of Banda Raya, to provide with vital information on handwashing and other measures to protect themselves and their families. To ensure this information is effective for students, students were given a separate socialization on Friday, March 13, 2020. Starting from elementary, middle and high school.

Not only students, all employees were also given socialization about COVID-19 and its precautions on 14 March 2020 at Fatih Bilingual School. All employees are involved in this socialization including cleaning service, teachers, and admin staff.
